About Matthew Alan's Tasty Treats

Founded in November 2021 as a licensed affiliate of a popular sticky bun brand, our Pottstown store was the first of it's kind in a fledgling new franchise,  but also set itself apart in a number ofother ways.   From day one, our store established its commitment to excellence from day one with a professionally trained barista crew,  a custom-designed coffee blend, and a passion for baking excellence.

We quickly began innovating beyond our original menu, creating specialty toppings for our buns, new bread pudding flavors, and entirely new items such as our classic eclairs, fruit tarts, and German butter cakes. A few of our ideas were adopted by the parent company, but many of our creations remained exclusively available at our store.

As our creativity grew, so did our customers’ desire for original products — and so did our awareness that the community was craving a full-service bakery for its sweetest desires. That inspiration led to our evolution into the independent brand we are today, officially launched as Matthew Alan’s Tasty Treats on May 9, 2026. Our new brand features an entire line of specialty eclairs, fruit tarts, cakes, cookies, independently developed sticky bun and cinnamon bun recipes, and an ever-growing selection of gluten-free treats.

As we continue to grow, we will keep listening to our customers, expanding our offerings, and meeting specific needs wherever we can. We remain committed to ongoing research and development, creating exciting new bakery treats and tasty variations of our customers’ favorites.

Matthew Alan's also proudly provide training and internship opportunities to culinary students from local vocational and community college programs.

About Chef Matt

Matthew Alan Misciagna is the Owner, Founder, and President of Matthew Alan's Tasty Treats.  He has over 50 years of culinary experience.  (Wait... what? How is that possible when he’s only 50-something?)  

​Formally educated at The Restaurant School of Philadelphia, Matthew’s true education started at the tender age of 3 years old, making homemade bakery items in his grandmother’s kitchen.   Nearly every day, he would sneak out to his Grandma’s house to spend  his days baking by her side.  By the time he was in elementary school, his parents were overwhelmed with the amount of baked treats that he brought home every night.  Then Dad had an inspiration: He bought Matthew a little red wagon and insisted that he begin delivering his sweet treats to neighbors, who clamored for more. And so, “Matthew Alan’s Tasty Treats” — circa 1979 — was born!  â€‹With his own list of repeat customers, special orders, and home deliveries, young “Matteo” (as Grandma Misciagna called him) was well on his way to pursuing his lifelong passion. 

 

Today, after over 30 years of professional food industry experience in establishments ranging from fast food to five-star restaurants, we are proud to bring together the best of what everyone has to offer.   From Sue's Classic Eclairs, to our award winning Bannana's Foster Bread pudding, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, and various innovative cinnamon bun toppings and flavors from our in-house bakers and culinary trainees, you never know what “Tasty Treats” will come up next!
