About Chef Matt
Matthew Alan Misciagna is the Owner, Founder, and President of Matthew Alan's Tasty Treats. He has over 50 years of culinary experience. (Wait... what? How is that possible when he’s only 50-something?)
Formally educated at The Restaurant School of Philadelphia, Matthew’s true education started at the tender age of 3 years old, making homemade bakery items in his grandmother’s kitchen. Nearly every day, he would sneak out to his Grandma’s house to spend his days baking by her side. By the time he was in elementary school, his parents were overwhelmed with the amount of baked treats that he brought home every night. Then Dad had an inspiration: He bought Matthew a little red wagon and insisted that he begin delivering his sweet treats to neighbors, who clamored for more. And so, “Matthew Alan’s Tasty Treats” — circa 1979 — was born! With his own list of repeat customers, special orders, and home deliveries, young “Matteo” (as Grandma Misciagna called him) was well on his way to pursuing his lifelong passion.
Today, after over 30 years of professional food industry experience in establishments ranging from fast food to five-star restaurants, we are proud to bring together the best of what everyone has to offer. From Sue's Classic Eclairs, to our award winning Bannana's Foster Bread pudding, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, and various innovative cinnamon bun toppings and flavors from our in-house bakers and culinary trainees, you never know what “Tasty Treats” will come up next!
